How To - Bumping an Order Line
The ability to bump and unbump an order is controlled in the Kitchen iQ config app at head office. The system can be configured to use one-touch bumping or require an item or ticket to be selected and then bumped (double-click bumping). Kitchen iQ users will only be able to bump or unbump an item/order if the channels have been configured to allow it.
Where Kitchen iQ is accessed from a touch screen, items and tickets can be bumped by touching the item or ticket once or twice as configured. Additionally an unbump icon is provided on a touch screen navigation bar on the right-hand screen to allow touch screen users to undo the previous action.
If the ability to unbump is enabled in the Config application, pressing the unbump button on a screen will cause the most recently bumped order line to reappear in the state and with the timing that they would have if the order line had never been bumped. To highlight the change in status, an unbump icon replaces the course icon on screen for 30 seconds, before re-displaying the appropriate course icon.
However if the bumped order line had subsequently been bumped from the next screen, the user would be unable to reverse it.
If a waiter bumped an order before all the items were prepared, the remaining order would be moved to the end of the list because it was no longer actionable. When the remaining items are prepared, the order will return to the top of the list to be bumped when served.
